Run forward and drop into the hole in the floor revealed when the
large stone coffin shifted to the left. Slide down the slope. There
is a circle of spinning blades ahead. The rhythm of the blades is
that it closes twice, and then pauses. Wait for the pause between
pairs of slicings, and as soon as the blades shut the second time
after the pause, begin sprinting down the hallway and dive through the
blades. Run forward to the bend in the tunnel and turn left. Ahead is another spinning blade trap. Line Lara up with the middle of the trap and listen for the pairs of slices. As soon as Lara hears the second closing after the pause sprint down the hall and dive through the trap. Run forward and slide down the ramp, dropping into a room with a map. Run forward to the map and turn left. Run forward to the west wall and jump up and grab the sloped opening. Pull up into the opening. Step forward and turn right. Crouch down and crawl forward into the crawlspace. Stand up and step into the next room. Step forward to the wheel and examine the room. The wheel raises a gray door on the wall ahead on the right, but the door will begin to fall as soon as Lara stops cranking the wheel. Lara must traverse the ledges, but those long white blades that hang down below the ledges will slice up after Lara passes over them. Crank the wheel at least five times to raise the door all the way up. When Lara stops pulling on the wheel immediately run diagonally to the left, around the wheel and then run diagonally to the right to avoid the hole in the corner of the ledge. Turn right and run forward and take a running jump to the next ledge. Blades will slice up near the end of that ledge. Turn right and run forward, taking a running jump to the next ledge. More blades will slice up. Run forward, turn left, and run through the closing door or sprint and dive through it if the door has closed too far to run through. More blades will slice up just past the doorway, so don't stop until Lara is near the end of the ledge1. |

Golden Vraeus
|
Turn left and take a standing jump to the ledge with the pedestal.
Take the Golden Vraeus (1) and
immediately hop backwards to avoid getting sliced by blades that pop
up out of the pedestal. Safety drop to the floor being careful not to
land in one of the brown depressions, because blades slice up out of
them. Turn around and face south. Have Lara make her way across the room by jumping over the brown depressions. When Lara reaches the square stone column, vault into the tunnel beyond. Run forward and turn right. Run forward to the ladder and turn right again. Climb the ladder and pull up to the ledge. Step forward and grab onto the small opening above. Pull up into a crouched position and turn around. Have Lara lower herself to the ledge outside. Lara will be back on the ledge with the wheel. Turn left and walk forward past the wheel. Turn right and reenter the tunnel that Lara entered from. Walk forward, crouch down and crawl forward until Lara returns to the sloping hallway. Stand up, turn left and run forward to drop back into the map room. Run forward to the map and turn right. Place the golden vraeus in the triangular gold receptacle. When Lara places the vraeus in the receptacle, the contraption on the ceiling will activate and shoot a beam of light onto the map. Then it will trace around the map until it arrives at pyramid, which will flip open to reveal an object inside. |

Guardian Key
|
Turn around and walk forward onto the map. Step forward to the beam
of light and pick up the Guardian Key (2). Turn right and place use the guardian key
in the receptacle on the east wall, which will open a trapdoor in the
floor to the right. Turn right and drop through the trapdoor. Reverse roll, run forward and slide down the ramp to drop into a large hallway below. Turn right and run down the hall. Something will be thumping against the barricaded doors on the right. Continue to the end of the hall and pick up a small Medi Pack (3). |

SECRET #1
|
Turn right and step forward. Jump up and grab the rails on
the ceiling. Turn right and swing back down the hall. Halfway down
the hall, two bats (1, 2) will attack, so
release and draw pistols to kill them. Return to the far end of the
hallway and jump up and grab the rails on the ceiling again. Continue
past the sloped opening that Lara slid into this hallway from, until
she reaches a small opening in the left wall. Turn left and swing forward until she is hanging against the wall. Release from the overhead rails and grab onto the opening. Pull up into a crouched position and crawl forward into SECRET #1. Turn left and continue crawling forward until Lara exits the crawlspace. Turn around and hang from the ledge and shimmy to the left before safety dropping into the room. Vault up onto the chest and pick up a box of regular shotgun shells (4). Turn around and run forward to drop to the ground. Angle Lara to the left and cross the room and climb up onto the chest to the left of the hole that is billowing out flames to pick up a quiver full of explosive crossbow bolts (5). Turn around and drop to the floor of the room. Walk over to the west side of the room and stand in front of the hole. Wait until the flames recede and run forward and reach inside to grab a box of wideshot shotgun shells (6) and immediately hop back to avoid the flames. Wait for the flames to recede and reach into the hole a second time and hop back to cause the hole on the east side of the room to occasionally stop flaming. Turn around and stand in front of the hole on the east wall and wait for an opportunity to reach into the hole. When the flames recede reach into the hole and grab a pair of Uzi clips (7) and hop back. Wait for an opportunity and reach into the hole a second time and hop back. This will cause the hole on the south wall to occasionally turn off and extinguish the flames in the hole on the north wall completely. Walk over to the hole in the south wall and wait for the flames to recede. Reach into the hole and grab a large Medi Pack (8) and hop back. Ignore the last hole, as it is a trap for the greedy and will release a swarm of beetles into the room. Climb the ladder on the south wall. Shift to the right when Lara reaches the ledge and release. Turn right and run along the ledge and turn right again at the corner. Turn left, crouch down and crawl into the crawlspace. Crawl forward and follow the crawlspace as it turns to the right. Crawl forward and turn around when Lara reaches the other end of the crawlspace. Have Lara lower herself to the floor and reverse roll. Turn right and run to the raised corner of the hallway. |

Turn left and run forward to the end of the hallway. Stand to the
right of the doorway and the Guardian2
(3) will burst out of the barred doorway.
Lara cannot kill the Guardian, so she must simply continuously evade
it. Use running jumps to get around faster. Quickly enter the doorway that the Guardian came out of and turn left. Follow the hallway as it turns to the left, straight ahead and back to the right. A bat (4) will emerge to attack Lara. Turn left and enter the room to the right and two more bats (5, 6) will emerge. Grab the small Medi Pack (9). |

SECRET #2
|
Exit this room to lead the Guardian away if it is near, otherwise
reach into the hole and grab a torch. Exit the room and turn left.
Follow the hallway as it turns left, goes straight and turns right.
Take a jump onto the ledge at the far end of the hallway and light the
torch. Reverse roll and run back down the hallway. Follow the hallway forward, left, forward, and back to the right. Turn right and reenter the small room. Light the two torches on the east and west walls to open the stone door to the left of the eastern torch. Quickly drop into the hallway, which is SECRET #2. If bats have followed Lara into this hallway, now would be a good time to take them out. Follow the hallway forward, to the right and back to the left. Lara may be able to spot the Guardian stomping around over-head through the transparent ceilings. Enter the room at the end of the small hallway and turn left. Pick up the box of regular shotgun shells (10) and take a hop back to avoid the blades that pop out of the pedestal. Turn around and walk forward and take the quiver of regular crossbow bolts (11) from the opposite pedestal and take a hop back to avoid the blades that pop out of the pedestal. Turn around and step forward. Turn right and face the last pedestal. Take the large Medi Pack (12) from the last pedestal and take a flip to the side to avoid the blades that pop out of the pedestal and a spiked ball that drops from the ceiling. Be careful to stay clear of the ball. Exit this room and follow the hallway to the right and back to the left. Climb back up into the small room and turn left. |

Exit the small room and turn left. Follow the hallway to the left,
straight, to the right. Turn right and exit this part of the hallway
that the Guardian was locked behind. Run forward and turn right and run to the end of the hallway. Another bat (7) will emerge, so try to shoot it down. Head for the barred door beneath the torch and turn around. Wait until the Guardian has arrived and allow it to charge at Lara. Take a jump over the Guardian and it will smash open the door. Reverse roll, jump over the Guardian and enter the door. Sprint down the hall and back up the other side into the large square room. There are three symbols with eyes on various pillars around the room. Lara must get the Guardian to smash into the symbols. Run up to the symbols and take a side flip just before the Guardian gores her to accomplish this. Get the Guardian to gore the symbol on the western wall, and the symbol in the northeastern side of the room to open the doorway to the right of the symbol on the western wall. Enter the doorway to the right of the symbol on the western wall. Run down the hallway and take a hairpin turn to the right. Climb up the ladder and run forward, up the steps until Lara reaches a platform that runs the circumference of the large square room with the three symbols. Turn left and run forward. Angle Lara to the right and follow the platform until it comes to a higher ledge. Vault up onto the ledge and turn left. Run forward into the chamber ahead and take a backflip when the trapdoor in the ceiling drops open. Wait for blades to shoot out of the ball and then vault up onto the ledge. Pick up a small Medi Pack (13), Uzi clips (14), and a box of regular shotgun shells (15) from the ledge and then exit this room. Run down the steps and return to the platform. Turn left and run toward the east side of this room. Angle Lara to the right and run along the eastern wall of this chamber. |

SECRET #3
|
Turn right when Lara reaches the souteast corner of this upper ledge
and run forward until Lara runs onto a sloped and raised part of the
floor. Jump up and grab the edge of a hole in the ceiling and pull up
to find SECRET #3. Turn left and carefully walk forward. A bladed
ball will drop from the ceiling. Walk around the ball and choose from a small Medi Pack (16), a box of regular shotgun shells (17), and a large Medi Pack (18). As soon as Lara takes on of the items off of its pedestal, the other two pedestals will ignite. Turn and walk back toward the hole in the floor, behing careful to avoid the flaming pedestals. When Lara nears the hole, another bladed ball drop from the ceiling. Wait for the trap to fire and safety drop through the hole. Turn to face east and head toward the southeast corner of the ledge. Turn left and step forward. |

When Lara arrives at the opening, turn to face west. Take a standing
jump onto the column with the last symbol and hang from the top of the
column above the symbol and wait safely until the Guardian smashes in
the third symbol. As soon as the Guardian smashes the last symbol, safety drop to the floor of the chamber, reverse roll and run into the doorway to the left of the symbol on the western wall. Quickly run down the hallway, turn right, and climb up the ladder. Lara makes her way out of the tomb of Semerkhet to find Ahmed, her former guide, guarding the exit of the tomb. She draws her pistols, takes aim on Ahmed and sneaks up behind him. "Hands on your head," Lara commands. "Take me to Von Croy." Suddenly, they see Von Croy taking off in a helicopter. Outside the tomb, many men are bustling around loading equipment onto a train. She asks him, "Where's he headed?" Ahmed replies, "You waste your time." Lara grows impatient and hisses, "This attitude problem! You people need to learn some manners. Tell me now or you've just run out of..." Lara pauses to savor the pun, "...time." The guard sighs, "Alexandria." Lara has the information she needs, and pistol whips him across the back of the head, knocking him unconscious. Ahmed flops to the ground with a grunt. She quickly takes Ahmed's robe and turban and puts them on, and drags him inside the tomb. She quietly walks over to the train. A mercenary in the guard tower notices her, but doesn't raise any alarm. She heaves herself up to one of the train's cars and pulls open the door. Lara pulls off the robe and turban and whispers, "Your work force is about to be delayed." Meanwhile, Ahmed awakens inside the tomb. He lights a match and spots a pair of glowing red eyes. It is the Guardian of Semerkhet. The beast growls and charges, but Ahmed's scream is drowned out by the train's steam whistle as the train pulls away.(follow plot) |
