Progress Notes
In case you haven't been following along, please note that work has begun on our Guide for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. Up to this point you've probably noticed that I've been releasing each level as I complete them, just as I did with the last two guides. This strategy, however will probably have to change because of the increasing amount of crossing back and fourth between levels. I can't be sure that my |
walkthrough for a given level is complete until I've played a few
levels through and verified that I haven't missed anything. I'm sorry
to announce that from this point forward, I'm going to have to release
my updates after I've completed a few levels to insure that you are
getting the best solution. As always your patience is appreciated.
Lost Artifact Tomb Raider 3 Gold has been release and it includes six additional |
levels titled "The Lost Artifact". Since I'm still working on "The Last Revelation", I have no plans to purchase the Tomb Raider 3 Gold package for just those six expansion levels. It is my sincere hope that Eidos will choose to release the six levels for free download sometime later this summer as they have in the past. (Old articles...)

Please Pardon Our Appearance
Here's the news that many of you have been waiting for. Once again, I've started the piecemeal publishing our latest guide for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. A few levels are already posted and ready for your viewing. Some of the general information is incomplete and possibly even incorrect, but I'm working on it. You may notice that the two training level guides are |
missing. It has been a tradition of ours that Brian write the
walkthrough for the training levels of the Tomb Raider games. However
with the arrivial of his new baby boy, he's got his
hands quite full. I don't expect those levels to be completed any
time soon, but he assures me that he's working on it. As always, your
patience and continued patronage is appreciated.
Your Contribution In the past, we have asked for your help in submitting |
corrections and additions to our guide. What I'm asking for now are your best screen-grabs of the enemies in The Last Revelation. If you have a decent "head-to-toe" screen-grab of any person, animal or creature featured on our Tke Last Revelation: Enemies Page, contact me by email me first and tell me what you want to send me and I'll let you know whether or not we've already got it.(Old articles...)

New Year Baby
The Y2K passed without incident, but we do have a different incident to report. Brian, our Executive Editor became the proud first-time father of Jared, a healthy 6 pound 3 ounce baby boy, who was supposed to be due on January 10th, but decided to arrive in time for Christmas, December 24th. Mother and baby are doing great and we at the Guide would like to wish him, his wife, and their son our best. |
Work in Progress
My copy of The Last Revelation arrived in time for Christmas, but I've been too busy to play. I have started working on my next guide and I hope to find some more time to work on the game in the coming weeks. Email apologies I just wanted to apologize to everyone who has sent me email but has yet to receive any replies. I've been extremely busy with work and the holidays and |
I've let many of my emails go unanswered. Please accept my apologies. (Old articles...)

Busy Busy
I've been quite busy lately, unfortunately not with the Traveler's Guide. I hope that things will lighten up for me at work in the coming new year. The good news is that I've already ordered my copy of |
New Hire
The job of insuring that our guide is the best and most accurate one available on web is daunting, so please welcome Bruce Harrington onto our staff. We want to thank Bruce for all his corrections and additions. Rightly Mac Players of the Macintosh version of Tomb Raider III may note that the swapped Ora Dagger and Element 115 artifacts in the PC version has been corrected in the Mac version. |
We just wanted to express our thanks to Ken Cobb, vice president of Westlake Interactive for kindly answering our emails and for fixing the problem so expeditiously. (Old articles...)

Backfill
We have finally strung together a backplot for The Golden Mask expansion levels for Tomb Raider 2. Our walkthroughs for these levels have been updated with the newly written plot. We hope you'll find our little fan fiction to be a good fit for these levels as well as being an interesting read. Ground Breaking With the impending |
arrival of the latest installment in the series, we have updated Lara's Biographical Sketch to include some
biographical information from the up-coming Tomb Raider:The Last
Revelation.
Y2K Ready I would like to take this opportunity to make our Y2K readinesss statement. It is our conviction that our web pages and scripts will continue display properly in any Y2K ready web browser after January 1, |
2000. As far as I know my PC is Y2K ready, but I can rely solely on my Mac if I need to. If "issues" arise, they may delay efforts for our planned "The Last Revelation" guide. We have received no statement from our web hosting service regarding the readiness of their servers or server software. We, therefore, cannot be held responsible outages as a result of interruption of power or internet service. Thank you for your attention. (Old articles...)

New Interview
Brian, our Executive Editor, conducted an interview with Richard Morton, who is the lead level designer for the upcoming "Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation". He invited a few familiar names among the Tomb Raider community to contribute questions, and the result is an interesting and informative interview, which can be |
found in our Editorials section. We would like to extend our thanks Susie Hamilton, Public Relations Manager for Core Design, for approving our interview and, of course, thanks to Richard Morton for his time.(Old articles...)

Golden State
I haven't posted any news here since early May, shortly before my wife and I made our cross country move. We took ten days to drive from Boston to San Diego in mid-May. It took our stuff a little a little longer to arrive, but we were back in Boston to conclude unfinished business. We didn't start unpacking until June. I managed to get my computers and our new internet connection |
hooked up by mid-June. I spent the following month looking for a job and now I've started a new position. It's a great software development position, but I'm a lot busier now than I used to be. This means I have limited time to update my web site and answer your e-mails, but I'll do my best. In the meanwhile, it may seem like nothing's been happening here at the Guide, but that's not true. A lot's been happening since I last reported in. |
Loose Ends
While awaiting the release of the Tomb Raider 2 Gold expansion levels, we finished making some of our own additions to the Tomb Raider 3 story-line. Our supplemental plot reveals the fate of the Australian soldiers, a few details about how Lara got to and from London, and some motivation for returning to All Hallows. We attempted to write our plot to fit regardless which order you play the levels.(more...) |

More Gold
Of course, there was the release of the five "gold" add-on levels to Tomb Raider II. We have completed the bulk of the guide for those levels. We're currently trying to dream up a credible plot to tie the levels together and make some finishing touches. Sharp Shooting We've added significant detail to the weapons |
section of the Tomb Raider 3 General
Hints page. If you haven't read it before, you might want to give
it a glance. Rich Morton also gave us some information on how the development
team designed Lara's weapons.
New Revelations In other news, Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation, was recently announced. According to preliminary reports, Core has responded to requests from fans for a |
story-line that is more seamlessly integrated into the game play. Barring any unforeseen obstacles, we at Traveler's Guide do plan to bring you the best possible walkthrough for The Last Revelation. (Old articles...)

Cut Over
I've finally finished the Tomb Raider 3 Guide, and hopefully, you've just been redirected to our new URL. Note that I will be unable to get e-mail starting today. Don't expect any replies until some time in June! See you all in San Diego. Campbell Interview Brian has completed the TR3 training level walkthrough. He also recently interviewed Phil |
Campbell, project leader for the new
TR2
Gold levels. We were delighted to hear Phil's positive comments
about our site. The interview can be found in our Editorials section, along with a recent editorial
about Lara's moral character.
London Stories We asked Rich Morton about the "Egyptian lass" that the gang leader speaks about in the Aldwych cut scene. Rich |
told us Lara was originally meant to encounter a mini-boss based on an actual ghost story of a green apparition that was claimed to be seen floating above one of the Egyptian caskets in the British Museum. However, because of time constraints, this mini-boss wasn't implemented. For more interesting background on this and the embalming fluid subplot, see the footnotes for the Aldywch walkthrough.(Old articles...)

The Big Move
In two weeks, my wife and I will move from Boston, where we've spent the last decade of our lives, to San Diego. As the big day rapidly approaches, I have begun the process of moving this web site from the server in my current office to a web hosting service. I have chosen West Host, Inc. as the provider because they offer unlimited traffic and UNIX shell accounts which will allow me to continue to use all my |
CGI scripts. The new URL for the Traveler's Guide is http://www.trinity.westhost
.com/tomb/ and my new email address will be ichou@trinity.westhost.
com. I expect that both my old address and URL will be properly
and transparently redirected to the new. As for our physical move, the movers will arrive to pack up our things on May 17th, so I am trying to finish Tomb Raider 3 before then. I'm currently near the end of the Lost |
City of Tinnos, but because I'm very busy, I haven't found the time to play TR3. For those that are asking whether I plan on putting up a guide for TR2 Gold?. I likely won't start on it until after we've fully moved to and settled in San Diego. We will be driving across the country and so will be incommunicado for about two weeks from May 18th on, so I won't be able to answer any e-mails during that time.(Old articles...)
