| Welcome to the United States of America. Among the various tourist attractions and vacation spots available to you, we see that you've chosen to visit Nevada. There are lots of things to see in Nevada, such as Las Vegas or Hoover Dam, so we're not sure why you've chosen to wander around in the Nevada Desert. Well, allow us to point out some of the highlights. | |||
Sights to See |
The territory of Nevada was created by an act of the United States
Congress, during President James Buchanan's administration, on March
2nd, 1861. On October 31st, 1861, President Abraham Lincoln admitted
Nevada as the thirty sixth state in the union. Nevada's fast mineral wealth has caused small mining towns to rise and fall all over the state. Currently Nevada produces more gold than any other state. Although Nevada is the most mountainous state in the union, with over two hundred mostly-forested mountain ranges, you have managed to find one of the few deserts in Nevada. Because of the desert climate, the rains here in central Nevada are infrequent, but when it does rain, it will often rain very hard. The parched earth cannot absorb all the moisture and, as a result, the desert is susceptible to flash flooding. Other results of the rains are beautifully clear streams and ponds and the occasional patch of quicksand. The canyons southwest of Rachel, Nevada will provide you with some great rock climbing and cliff diving. We advise that you stay clear of the Nellis Air Force base, which spans from state road 375 all the way down to highway 95, which is further south of there. |

Local Fauna |
The pioneer territory of Nevada has a few indigenous creatures, but most of which are nocturnal. What you will likely encounter are some of the local buzzards and rattlesnakes.
Local Workers |
We advise you to avoid the locals. They dislike strangers and are not real friendly around these parts.
Souvenirs
|
While you're trekking around you'll want find a detonator switch to help the locals do a little blasting. If you want to borrow a quad bike, you'll need to turn off the electrified fences. That means you'll need to obtain a generator access card to gain access to the generator and to shut it off.
Hidden Treasures |
There are three secrets in this level. All are fairly easy to spot, and fairly easy to get into and out of. There are some Uzis lying around for you to try out.
Hazards |
Aside from the initial patch of quicksand, you won't run into it anywhere else in the desert. The rattlers aren't a problem. Just expect to find a few near every bush, and you'll be well covered. There isn't much else to be worried about in terms of hazards. There are a few places where carelessness can cause you to plummet to your death, but aside from the electrified fences, there aren't many life threatening hazards to speak of.
