The River Ganges |
Items: 32 |
Kills: 34 |
|
| Having made your way through one of the more elaborate temple ruins in Northern India, you will find that the temple backs onto the River Ganges. | |||
Sights to See |
Welcome traveler, to the Ganges River. The Ganges is considered to be
India's most sacred river. Many Hindu ceremonies are held in the
cities along the river's banks. Hindu pilgrims travel to the Ganges to
bath in its waters. The Ganges stretches 2510 km, originating in northern Uttar Pradesh and flowing west until it croses into Bangladesh and empties into the Bay of Bengal. Your journeys will only expose you to a small tributary of the Ganges. The waters are clear and filled with piranha and the currents are strong. Although your itinerary takes you downstream of this river, do not actually take a plunge into its deadly waters, or you will find your trip to India cut short. |
||
Local Fauna |
Indigenous to this flood basin of the Ganges are more cobra and monkeys. However, you will encounter one other local inhabitant: a variety of vulture. Watch yourself, because these birds can sense impending death. The weaker you are, the more aggressive these large ugly carrion birds will become.
Souvenirs
|
Depending on the path you choose, you may need to pick up a pair of Gate Keys.
Hidden Treasures |
There are five fairly well hidden secrets to be found along the River Ganges. If you choose the gate path, then you will only be able to collect four. If you look on every ledge and in every hole, none of these secrets should escape your grasp.
Hazards |
The greatest hazard will probably be as a result of poor driving skills and plummeting the quad bike into a pit or into the river. There are very few other ways to get killed on this level. Depending on your chosen path, there will be one pit of quicksand, that you need to be particularly careful of. In other areas, it is possible to make your way out of the quicksand and climb back out, however if you fall into this pit of quicksand, then all hope is lost, because you cannot climb back out and you will simply drown.
