| Shakespeare Cliff may not be a tourist destination for a British national, but after recent incidents, the area is a dangerous place to visit. | |||
Sights to See |
The Channel Tunnel connecting England with France was an enormous
feat of engineering. The tunnel provides an alternative method for
moving passengers and freight from England to France. Spanning, fifty
kilometres, the tunnel project was first discussed in 1802 by French
mining engineer, Albert Mathieu-Favier. Drilling did not actually commence until 1881, but due to military fears of invasion by the British Parliament, work was halted after a couple thousand meters have been dug on both the English and French sides of the tunnel. Another attmept was not made to complete the tunnel until 1966, but due to financial difficulty, work did not commence until 1972. Work was not completed until after 1991, and the tunnel was not opened until 1994. Over the years after financial and engineering difficulties, the locals started referring to the tunnel project as the "Chunnel". The tunnel goes from Sangatte, near Calais,in France to Shakespeare Cliff, a town called Folkstone, near Dover. In case you haven't heard, we had an explosion at Shakespeare Cliff. Do be careful, as not only is there a huge crater in the ground, a strange deadly bluish goo was found in the blast crater, which is fatal to the touch. |

Chunnel Workers |
As you explore the area, you will encounter employees of SL Inc. which was contracted to perform the repairs on the Chunnel after the blast. Accompanying the workers is a small army of heavily-armed guards. Of course it should raise your suspicion why such a large show of force is necesary for such a mundane operation.
Local Fauna |
You will encounter a fairly typical creatures here in the tunnels. That's right, there are plenty of rats to be found in the tunnels. If you find the third secret, then you will encounter another creature that was thought to be extinct.
Souvenirs
|
You will need to find the Drill Activator Card as you make your way down into the depths of the blast crater, but along teh way you can expect to find the rocket launcher.
Hidden Treasures |
There are three secrets in this level. The first secret can be seen, but hard to reach unless you are the kind of person that leaves no stone unturned. The second secret can only be found by those that are downright suicidal. The third secret will involve another big side-track, but those who are careless will simply miss the whole thing.
Hazards |
There are many opportunities to fall to your death. The well-armed guards may also be a problem. However, we found that the most common source of death and damage involved accidents with the quad-bike. Do be careful with that thing.
