The Golden Mask of Tornarsuk -- General Strategy Guide

1. KNOW THYSELF
If Tomb Raider 2 Gold is your first exposure to the Tomb Raider world, then this document is a must read for you.

If you are playing the Golden Mask of Tornarsuk levels, then you must have either purchased Tomb Raider 2 Gold or downloaded these levels from the internet for use with your original Tomb Raider 2 game. This guide pertains exclusively to the four additional levels supplied on the second CD of the Tomb Raider 2 Gold distribution or the four levels that are downloadable from the internet. If you are looking for help for the main levels for the Tomb Raider 2 Gold game, please refer to our Tomb Raider 2 Guide.

We are assuming that you are already familiar with the moves for Tomb Raider 2. If you require a refresher course in what's what in the world of Tomb Raider 2, we kindly direct your attention back to the General Strategy Guide for Tomb Raider 2. You will have access to the Lara's mansion in Surrey, England, and because the mansion is exactly the same as in the original Tomb Raider 2 game, please refer to our guide for that training level.

Below is some additional information about Tomb Raider 2 Gold: The Golden Mask of Tornarsuk.

2. MORE ABOUT THE LEVELS
Once again, Philip Campbell and crew have created additional "Gold" Add-on levels for Tomb Raider. This time their levels use the Tomb Raider II engine. Development of these level began in February of 1999 and was kept extremely quiet until shortly before their release in April of 1999.

These levels are available for download or purchase for the PC-CD platform only. Although Phillip Campbell has been a proponent for the release of the Gold levels for the Sony Playstation version, there is currently no plans for releasing them on that platform.

Because these exapansion levels are based on the Tomb Raider II engine, the weapons and moves are the same as those used by Lara in Tomb Raider II. If you require help with playing or setting up the game, refer to the documentation that is included with your Tomb Raider II CD. However unlike, the Shadow of the Cat and Unfinished Business levels, The Golden Mask includes enemies not found in the original Tomb Raider II game.

There are four main levels to The Golden Mask, but if you collect all twelve secrets in the four levels, you will gain access to a secret fifth level. After you having found all twelve secrets and completed the four levels, when you start a new game, you will be able to select from any of the four levels as well the fifth bonus level.

Read our interview with Phillip Campbell, the coordinator and designer of these levels for information about the inspiration and development of the Golden Mask of Tornarsuk.
