| The Kingdom is full of twists and turns. Many rooms have multiple paths. In case you get stuck, here are a few hints to point you in the right direction. | |||
Caged Beasts
|
Well, you're in the cage and the beasts are outside. Anyway, you don't actually need to wander around outside. You're primary goal is to get into the trap door in the floor of the large cage. Here's a couple of hints: First, as I've already stated, you don't need to open the gate to the outside if you don't want to nor do you need to wander outside to find a way to open the trap door. Second, it has nothing to do with the switch or the fire. That doesn't leave much else in that cage. | ||
Gilded Toes

You just need to cross a couple of pools of molten gold and drop into a hole in the tunnel beyond. Not a big deal, right? | ||
Toggler Boggler
|
Once you drop into the hole you will find yourself in an area
partitioned off into eight cages, which are separated by gates. There
are levers in first six of the cages that control the various gates.
The problem is that each lever controls multiple gates, and they
toggle the gates they are tied to open or closed, depending on whether
the gate is already closed or open. This fantastic brain boggler can be solved if you figure out which levers operate which gates. You can then build a decision tree, to flip all the doors open. Oh... wait... not everyone is a nerd like me. Well, if you don't want to do the brute force method, here are a few tips. The shortest route, that I've found, involves eight lever pulls. The first four levers must be pulled in order, because each lever gains you access to only one new cage, so the first four pulls are easy. It's the last four lever pulls that might get you into trouble. Of the remaining two levers you will have to toggle the position of one of them twice, returning it to its original position, but you will also need to return one of the first four levers to its original position as well. Subtropical Alaska

After escaping the cage puzzle, you must head up the ramp and out to an lush jungle, kept warm by the bubbling pools of gold. Head along the path and you'll soon come to a large caged room and three switches. If you pull the switches in the right order, you can save yourself a fight. Either way, you need to get in there and grab that Medi Pack. | ||
Jungle Canopy

Past the large room, you will slide into another jungle area. You're goal is to climb your way around to reach a series of slopes. If you're careful to jump over the second slope, you will end up standing on carved gold plate. If not, you will slide into the bubbling gold pool below the trees. | ||
Yellow Brick Road
|
A couple of jumps will land you in the next area, which is a path made of gold with trap doors that will plunge you into the molten gold. Although you can wait for them to close, a simple solution is to just jump over them. Climb your way out of this area back to the rocky area near the beginning of the level. | ||
The Great Unmasking

After dealing with a few leopards, you can make your way to the receptacle for the golden mask. That would be all very pleasant if not for the guardian that is released by the replacement of the mask. There are a couple of methods for dealing with the creature. It seems that the level is meant to be played such that you release the guardian, run up the ramp to the guardian's lair, pull the lever to open the wooden gates and extend a golden bridge inside, run back down the ramp and enter the wooden gates, run across the gate, and pull the lever, dropping the guardian, hot on your tail, into the pit below, where you can pluck him off at your leisure. There's no tricks. It is quite challenging, but becomes much more challenging if you also want to pick up the items hidden in the guardian's lair. | ||
