Lara assesses her situation and also considers what she's learned thus far, It is apparent that this mine was abandoned decades ago, but now Lara finds a band of mercenaries fortifying themselves here. She's fairly confident that these brutes aren't interested in the relic, so she assumes that they must be here searching for gold. One nagging thought continues to bother her: If there is still gold to be found here, why did the Russians pack up and leave in such a hurry? There aren't any answers to be found in this icy tunnel. Lara decides its time to get moving.(follow plot)



Run forward and Lara will drop into hole that leads to a water-filled tunnel. Swim forward and up a shaft. Turn right and pull out of the water. Immediately draw the shotgun and take a side flip to the right to avoid getting shot at from above. Kill a doberman (1) that will charge out of one of the two doors ahead. After killing the dog, turn left and take a back flip away from the wall and kill a guard (2) that will come down from above. Avoid climbing up the steps, and wait for a second guard (3) to come out of the doors on the right. After killing the second guard, draw pistols and run up onto the steps that lead up to the higher ledge. A thug (4) armed with a pipe will arrive from the hallway above. Back flip and open fire to kill him.

When things quiet down, pick up a box of shotgun shells (1) from the body of the first guard, and another box of shotgun shells (2) from the body of the second guard. Run into the doorway below the high ledge in the corner to enter a small room and pick up a large Medi Pack (3). Exit the small room and enter the doorway that is near the base of the steps. The door will close behind Lara after she passes through it. Run forward and angle Lara slightly to the left to run along the side of the pool. Turn right just before she reaches the end of the wall. Take a running jump over the pool to the ledge beside the boiler. Draw pistols and reverse roll to take out a doberman (5) that will emerge from around the corner. Pick up the box of flares (4) and take a running jump back over the pool.

Turn left and run to the corner of the pool and turn left again. Run to the end of the hallway and the door at the end of the hallway will close. Reverse roll and run back along the hallway and turn right. Run forward up the stairs, turning right at the middle landing. When Lara reaches the top of the stairs, turn right once more and run down to the end of the hall. Turn right once more and run along the windows. Turn left when Lara reaches the single window and pick up the two boxes of shotgun shells (5, 6). Two flamethrowers (6, 7) will emerge below, so quickly draw pistols and shoot out the window. Run forward and drop down out of the window to the room below. Avoid the floor in front of the small shaft filled with water, because that will open the two doors and unleash the two enemies.

Turn right and run up steps, vaulting or turning as necessary to get to the top of the steps. Turn right and run up the last flight of stairs. Turn right, have the pistols ready, and step out toward the opening to the room with the pool. Take aim and kill the two flamethrowers from the this location, hopping backwards to safety when they fire. When both are dead, take a running jump and grab from this hallway, over the pool, across to the ledge opposite the opening of the hallway. Pull the switch to open one of the doorways in the upper hallway. Collect a small Medi Pack (7) from one of the dead flamethrowers.

Take a running jump and grab back across the room to return to the opening of the hallway. Run forward to the corner and turn left. Run to the end of the hallway, to the door that Lara just opened, and turn left. Run down the hallway and turn right. Throw the switch to open the other door in this upper hallway. Turn right and run back down the hall to the opened door. Turn right and run down to the other end of the hall, turn left and enter the door that Lara just opened. Once Lara is in the room full of crates, turn left and pick up clips for the M-16 (8).
SECRET #1
Reverse roll and run back to the other end of this room. Turn left and pull the crate four times so that it comes out of the room. Turn left and run down the stairs. When Lara reaches the opening near the bottom of this flight of stairs, turn right and climb back up to the hallway. Step forward and turn right and run back to the end of the hall. Turn left and reenter the room full of crates. Pick up two more sets of M-16 clips (9, 10) from the corner and turn left. Locate the second crate in the corner and pull it once. Run around to the opposite side of the crate and pick up SECRET #1, a pile of gold coins (11).
Exit the room turn right and run to the other end of the hallway. Turn right at the end of the hall and enter the other open door. Pull up onto the ledge and drop down the other side. Turn left, step out to the wider hallway, and turn right. Run down the hall, noticing the enemies in the central room, and turn left at the corner. Run to the next corner and turn left once more. Run forward until Lara reaches the short wall.

Vault onto the wall, and the door that leads into the central room will open. Draw pistols and back flip off of the wall and kill the thug (8) that will emerge from the room. When he's dead, collect a small Medi Pack (12) from him. It is possible to wait patiently for the guard (9) to come out of the room to kill him from the safety of the far side of the wall. After killing the guard, vault onto the short wall, and drop down the other side. Pick up two boxes of shotgun shells (13, 14) from his body and turn left to enter the central room.

Run to the far left corner of the room and pull the switch to open a door in the hall outside. Reverse roll, run to the opposite end of the room, turn right and exit this room. Turn right once more and vault onto the short wall. Drop down the other side, and turn left. Exit this area through the newly opened door and Lara will find herself in a courtyard. Turn left and run forward toward the center of the courtyard. Locate two guards (10, 11) on the high ledge around the perimeter of the courtyard. One will emerge from the left and the other from the right. Kill them from below, retreating to the end of the courtyard below the large fan, as necessary.

When the two guards are dead, proceed forward down the courtyard, and pick up a box of shotgun shells (15) from the small crate on the right. Continue forward and draw pistols to kill a doberman (12) that will emerge from an alley on the left. When the dog is dead, head toward the alley and pick up the M-16 Clips (16) from on top of the crate. Continue to the end of the alley to pick up a box of flares (17).

Reverse roll and exit the this alley and turn left. Draw weapons and head toward the end of the courtyard and kill another doberman (13) that will emerge. Step forward and pick up more M-16 clips (18) from the ground at the far end of the courtyard.

Reverse roll and head back down the courtyard until Lara reaches the crate in the corner in front of some broken windows. Vault up onto the crate and climb or jump up onto the sloped roof above. Draw pistols and reverse roll. Run forward and drop off the roof and kill a crow (14) that will swoop in from behind. Simultaneously with the arrival of the crow, a thug (15) will emerge on the roof and attack while Lara is distracted by the crow. Kill them both from the safety of the courtyard. When both are dead climb back up onto slanted roof via the wooden crate. Turn left and step onto the flat part of the roof and a second crow (16) will emerge. Draw pistols and kill it. Go to the body of the thug Lara just killed and collect a box of shotgun shells (19).

Climb up onto the snow-covered roof above the slanted part of the roof and turn right. Take a standing jump over the alley onto the next building. Draw weapons and run toward the opening in the corner. A thug (17) will emerge, so kill him while back flipping. When he's dead, collect a small Medi Pack (20) from him. Inside the room the thug emerged from are slopes and lead back down to areas that Lara explored earlier. Have make her way around the upper ledge that runs the perimeter of the courtyard, remembering to pick up shotgun shells (21, 22) from each of the two guards she kill earlier.
Circuit Board
Before Lara reaches the far end of the ledge, she will find some more shotgun shells (23). After picking up the shells, draw pistols and take a back flip or two away from another guard (18) that will emerge from the room at the end of the ledge. Kill him and take the small Medi Pack (24) that he was carrying. Continue to the structure at the end of the ledge and run up the steps to pull the switch that will open the door on the right. Reverse roll, draw weapons and step forward. Turn and enter the doorway and immediately kill a doberman (19) that will pounce from the right. After killing the dog pick up the Circuit Board (25) that the dog was guarding.

After collecting the circuit board, exit the small room and turn left and run down the steps. Run back along the ledge until Lara comes to the wide opening above the far end of the courtyard. Place the circuit board in the panel beside the door to open it.

Light a flare and enter the door and angle Lara to the right. Without wandering around, quickly vault up onto the crate ahead and pick up the box of flares (26). Draw pistols and take out a rat (20) that is scurrying around on the ground ahead. Turn left and kill a second rat(21) in the corner. Now turn around and light a second flare. Run forward, dropping off the crate, and run forward. Turn left just beyond a pillar and climb up onto a crate that's next to a ramp. A snowmobiler (22) will have emerged from the opposite side of the warehouse. Draw weapons, preferably the M-16, lock onto the the snowmobiler. Keep locked on and fire on the enemy until he's dead. Try to stay on the side of the crate furthest from the snowmobiler to reduce damage from his machine gun fire.
CardKey 1 #1
When he's dead, light a flare and drop onto the ramp. Run to the top of the ramp and take a standing jump down to a crate below. Run forward and turn left just before Lara reaches the corner. Head part way up a wide ramp and drop off into the area to the right of the ramp. Pick up Uzi clips (27) and turn left. Run along the side of the ramp until Lara reaches the end of the wide ramp. Turn left and run between the ramps. Turn right and vault up onto the crate to pick up a large Medi Pack (28). Step up to the higher crate and pick up CardKey 1 (29).

Turn left and drop off of the side of the crate. Light a flare and run forward to the wall of the warehouse. Turn left and run along the wall of the warehouse until Lara reaches the corner. Draw weapons and turn left. A thug (23) will arrive, so take him out and then take the small Medi Pack (30) that he was carrying. Past the corner is a grey pillar with some short crates beside it. Vault up over the crate and pick up the M-16 clips (31) next to the pillar. Draw pistols and turn left. Run along the wall and soon Lara will encounter a third rat (24). Kill the rat, light a flare and locate the snowmobile.

Climb onto the snowmobile and pilot the snowmobile to the exit of the warehouse. Turn the snowmobile around and back it out of the doorway. Continue to slowly back it out of the doorway, angle it to the right and continue backing out of the wide opening which leads to the warehouse. Make sure to aim the snowmobile at the narrow doorway that leads into the warehouse. When the snowmobile crosses the wide opening, double doors will open in the courtyard below, releasing a snowmobiler (25), while a second snowmobiler (26) that's lurking inside the warehouse will reveal himself, but Lara will be ready. As soon as the snowmobiler emerges from the warehouse doorway, open fire the snowmobile's machine guns and quickly put an end to this snowmobiler.

Dismount the snowmobile and draw weapons and take aim on the snowmobiler that's roaring around in the courtyard below. Be sure not to stand near the edge of the upper ledge to avoid being shot at by the other snowmobiler. When the two snowmobilers are dead, reenter the warehouse, light a flare and turn right. Run forward to the right wall and turn left. Run forward up the ramp and drop off the top of the ramp and push the crate forward.

Pick up the box of flares (32) that was underneath the crate and turn right and enter the passage that was hidden by the crate. Run down the right side of the ramp and when Lara reaches the end of the concrete wall, angle right and continue running forward until Lara comes to the steel ledge. Beyond the ledge are a couple of windows with a guard (27) behind it. If Lara were standing to the left of the pillar ahead, the guard would be able to shoot at the top of her head. Draw pistols and jump up and down to fire on the guard. Continue jumping and firing until the guard is dead.

When the guard is dead, climb over the steel barricade, and drop into the pool below. Take an underwater hair pin turn to the left and pull the lever to stop the underwater propeller that's churning the waters in the underwater tunnel to the left. Surface and take a side stroke to the right. Pull up onto the platform and draw pistols. A flamethrower (28) will emerge from the end of the dark tunnel. Kill him before he comes within range of Lara. Run down the dark tunnel and pick up a small Medi Pack (33) from the body of the flamethrower. Light a flare and continue down the dark tunnel until it ends at a small room. Pick up a box of flares (34), reverse roll, and have Lara make her way back to the pool.
Grenade Launcher
Take a running jump from the end of the ledge and grab onto the wooden wall. Shift to the right and climb up the wooden wall until Lara can pull up to the windows that she shot out earlier. Step forward, past the windows, and turn left. Pull the crate away from the corner of the wall. Run around behind the crate and pick up the grenades (35) that were underneath the crate. Picking up the grenades will open a secret door on the other side of the little room, so turn around, step forward, and turn right past the crate and run forward. Enter the newly opened secret doorway and turn right to pick up more grenades (36). By entering this secret doorway, another secret door behind the crate will open. Reverse roll, run forward, turn left, and run across the room. Turn left and enter the doorway on the right which is behind the crate. Turn right and pick up the grenade launcher (37).

Reverse roll and exit the second secret passage. Run past the crate and turn right and drop back down into the pool below. Turn left and swim down the underwater tunnel, past the propeller, and turn right near the end of the tunnel. Enter the narrow side tunnel and light a flare as necessary. Follow the narrow tunnel as it turns to the right and then back to the left. Swim forward, pick up the two sets of clips for the automatic pistols (38, 39) and surface for air. Turn around and tread water toward the dark opening. Pull out of the water and draw pistols to kill a rat (29). Enter the small dark room and pick up two more automatic pistol clips (40, 41) from the corner on the right. If Lara hasn't already found the automatic pistols, she will find a pair here instead of one set of clips. Exit this room and drop back into the water. Swim down the channel until the water is shallow. When Lara can stand, the door ahead will open, and Lara can climb up onto the ledge.

Drop down to the ground below and turn left. Run forward to the end of the wide passage and turn right. Run forward through the double doors that released a snowmobiler earlier and turn left to return to the courtyard. Run forward to the far end of the courtyard and vault up onto the ledge in front of the close door at the end of the courtyard. Use the type 1 card key in the lock to the left of the door to open it.
SECRET #2
Step into the newly opened doorway and a secret door will open elsewhere. Turn around, exit the doorway and, drop down to the ground. Turn left and reenter the building Lara emerged from earlier. Turn left run forward until Lara comes to the small passage with a carving of Stalin. Turn right and run forward to enter the secret passage. Run to the end of the passage and turn right. Climb up onto the ledge and run forward. Half way up the next passage, turn right and pull the switch to open the door at the top of the passage. Three dobermans (30, 31, 32) will be released, so take three side flips to the right to drop back down to the trench below. Draw pistols and turn left. Jump up and down to kill the dobermans. When it's safe, climb back up to the higher ramp, and run to the top of the ramp. Exit through the open doorway and collect SECRET #2, the gold bars (42).

Turn around and reenter the doorway, run back down the ramp, drop into the trench, turn left, run forward, and turn left again to exit the secret passage. Run forward and run through the doorway to return to the courtyard. Turn right and vault back up onto the ledge in front of the open door.
CardKey 1 #2
Enter the doorway and drop to the floor. Step forward and pick up another CardKey 1 (43). When Lara picks a thug (33) will emerge from the passage ahead. Draw pistols and open fire while back flipping to kill the enemy. When he's dead, collect the small Medi Pack (44) he was carrying. Climb up into the room that the thug emerged from to find a closed door, a second lock, and a switch. Pull the switch to open the timed door in the closed-off passage. This also releases a guard (34) that's carrying the correct card key into the room that Lara just climbed out of.
CardKey 2
Reverse roll and stand below the opening to the previous room. Draw pistols and jump up and down while firing to kill the guard inside. After he's dead, climb up back into the room and collect the CardKey 2 (45). Climb back into the other room, use the type two card key in the lock to open the steel door. Pull the switch to open the timed door and run forward down the passage to the next area.

Turn right, draw weapons and run forward. Kill two thugs (35, 36), one of which will attack from ahead and above while the second one will attack from the right, jumping around while firing. When both are dead, climb up the ledges that the first thug descended from. Turn left and vault up onto a snow covered ledge. Step forward and vault up onto a higher ledge. Turn right and walk forward until Lara steps up onto a high ledge. Walk forward and all the way out to the far right corner of the ledge. Angle Lara slightly to the right and take a standing jump down to the steel beam below.

Pick up the box of flares (46) and turn right. Draw powerful weapons and run forward along the steel structure. Turn right and two guards (37, 38) will emerge from among the crates. Take them down, while being careful not to fall down to the ground below. When both are dead, enter the area with the crates. In the back right corner are three crates that Lara can move, arranged in an "L". Push the first one against the wall, and climb up on top of it. Turn around, draw pistols and kill two dobermans (39, 40). Now drop off the crate and pull the crate that was behind the first one away from the edge of the structure. Climb over the crate and drop down the other side to pick up two sets of Uzi clips (47, 48) and grenades (49).

Exit the area with the crates and run out to the crate that stands by itself. Climb onto the crate and draw pistols. Side step to the left until Lara reaches the edge of the crate and turn right. Take a side step to the left and jump up and down to try to take aim on a guard (41) below. If Lara can't lock onto the guard, side step to the left once and try jumping again. When Lara can lock onto the guard, open fire and kill him. When he's dead, reach down and pick up the large Medi Pack (50). Turn right and locate a thug (42) that will try to climb up and to reach Lara. Draw weapons and kill him.

Drop off the crate and run over to the thug that Lara just downed and take the small Medi Pack (51) that he was carrying. Run over to the area to the left of the tall smoke stack and safety drop to the steel ledge below. Turn left and collect two Uzi clips (52, 53) from the in front of the windows. If Lara isn't already carrying the Uzi's, she will find that one pair of clips are replaced by Uzi's here.

Walk back to the steel ledge that Lara dropped down to and locate the steel ledge that protrudes from the snowy slope below. Draw weapons and take a standing jump down to the steel ledge. A crow (43) and a thug (44) will emerge from the doorway ahead. Kill them both and drop off the right side of the structure. Run up to the other steel structure that protrudes from the snow so that Lara is pressed up against it. Side step to the right and then turn right. Take one side step to the right and then angle Lara back to the left. Take a standing jump up to the flat snowy ledge beside the steel structure. Turn left and take a standing jump up onto the steel structure. Pick up automatic pistol clips (54) and drop back to the snowy ledge. Turn right and take a running jump and grab to return to the other steel structure.

Turn right and walk to the very edge of the structure. Take a standing jump down to the ledge in front of the doorway. Vault up into the doorway, and draw pistols. Step forward and kill a rat (45). Stay away from the fence at the side of this building. Turn left and jump or vault up onto the short stone wall and draw pistols if necessary. Kill another rat (46) that's running around on the ground beyond. Turn and face the fences and kill two flamethrowers (47, 48) through the fence. With both are dead, run along the fence toward the side of the building with the fences.

Turn around and then angle Lara to the right toward the opening diagonally across the room. Drop down to the other side of the short wall and make a bee line for that opening. Don't stop until Lara has exited the room. Barrels will drop from the far end of the room and roll down across the room as Lara runs past. Aim for the right side of the opening so that Lara will run up the rocks instead of sliding down to the bottom of the canyon outside. If Lara slides down to the bottom she will need to climb back up to the other doorway.

After the barrels have rolled past, turn around and draw weapons. Kill two more rats (49, 50) that will be running around on the ground. Reenter the room now that it's safe, and light a flare. Turn right and run up the ramp that the barrels rolled down from. In the darkness of the back left corner, is a small pit. Drop into the pit, and use the type 1 cardkey to open the double doors and the metal grate beside the lock.

Step backwards and drop through the trapdoor into the water. Turn right and swim to the end of the underwater tunnel and turn right. Swim forward along the water-filled trench, picking up flares (55), a small Medi Pack (56), and two sets of Uzi clips (57, 58) along the way. When Lara reaches the end of the trench, surface and pull out of the water. Run along the ledge beside the water toward the double doors and when Lara reaches the double doors, draw pistols and immediately back flip back along the ledge until Lara is past the end of the water-filled trench. A third flamethrower (51) will emerge, but Lara should be able to kill him before he gets too close.

Drop into the small pool near the end of the ledge and pick up grenades (59) and a large Medi Pack (60) from the bottom of the small pool. Surface and run back along the ledge until Lara returns to the double doors. Turn right and enter the small passage between the two yellow warning signs. Once inside the next room, immediately vault up onto the ledge to the right. Draw weapons and turn left. Jump up and down to lock onto a guard (52) that's running around on a ledge above. Kill the guard and the jump and grab onto the ledge. Pull up, turn left, and run forward to pick up two pairs of M-16 Clips (61, 62) from the alcove.

Reverse roll and run forward and drop through the hole at the end of the ledge. Turn left and walk forward into the dark passage. Run forward until Lara reaches the wall of the cavern. Draw pistols and turn right. Walk forward to the end of the wooden tracks. Turn right and Lara should be able to target and kill a guard (53) in the the bright cavern on the right. After the guard is dead, turn back to the left and take a running jump and grab to reach the rock column that's against the left wall of the cavern.

SECRET #3
Step forward and drop to a ledge behind the column. Turn left and drop into an alcove and pick up SECRET #3, a gold skull (63). Turn around and vault out of the alcove. Turn right and climb back onto the rock pillar.
Hang off the side of the rock column and two thugs (54, 55) will emerge. Pull up, draw weapons and step forward to kill the two thugs as they make their way up to the top of the column. When both are dead, safety drop off the column onto the stone bridge. Reverse roll and walk across the stone bridge, past the glowing skeleton. When Lara reaches the other end of the bridge, take a hop back and side step all the way to the right. Angle Lara to the right take a standing jump and grab to reach the ledge beside the stone bridge.

Pull up and draw weapons to kill two crows (56, 57) that will arrive. Turn and face the brightly light upper cavern and take a running jump to the next ledge. Run forward and climb up to the next ledge. Run forward and climb up the wooden retaining wall. Run forward to the end of the cavern and pick up a small Medi Pack (64) and automatic pistol clips (65).

Turn and run back to the mouth of this cavern. Drop down to the ledge below the wooden retaining wall, and run forward to drop to the next lower ledge. Take a running jump across to the next ledge and then fun forward to land on a slope. Lara will slide back down to the stone bridge. Run half way across the stone bridge to the glowing skeleton. Turn right and take a standing jump and grab to reach the wooden slats which are nailed into the cavern wall.

Climb all the way down the wooden slats and when Lara reaches the bottom, shift all the way to the right so that when Lara releases, she will land beside the slope below instead of on it. Release and turn around. Draw pistols and step forward. Kill two rats (58, 59) that will emerge from a hole on the right. Continue forward and reverse roll when Lara gets to the corner. Pick up the large Medi Pack (66) and quickly ready pistols. Kill three more rats (60, 61, 62) that will move in from the two sides of the slope and the hole.

When the rats are dead, walk forward to the slope and turn around. Slide down the slope backwards, grabbing the bottom edge of the slope. Release to drop to the slope below without taking any damage. Turn right and run along the bottom edge of the lower slope toward the glowing carvings. Lara will run past a column and step onto a short slope. When she slides to a stop at the bottom, step forward and pick up three boxes of shotgun shells (67, 68, 69) and then turn right. Vault onto the short stone wall, and step forward to drop off the other side. Run forward to the carving and turn left. When Lara reaches the skeleton, turn left and run forward.
