The Great Wall
Items: 14
Kills: 23

What a View!
For the traveler who has the time to stop and smell the roses, this little side track is for you. Here's how to climb atop the two towers of the Great Wall. The view from there is spectacular and well worth the trouble.
Start Here
As soon as you unlock the first door that opens onto the segment of the Great Wall you will be attacked by three crows. After the three crows are dead, you're ready for this interesting little sidetrack.

Cross the segment of the Great Wall and run toward the second tower with the closed and locked door. Climb onto the block closest to the tower on the right.

Now turn and face the tower, and step backwards away from the tower until Lara is against the back edge of the block. Then carefully sidestep to the right toward the outside edge of the wall. You may want to save the game here because this next jump might take a few tries. Take one sidestep to the left away from the outside edge of the wall and face Lara so that she facing the corner of the tower. The edge of the tower should be just past the center of Lara's head. Now take a running jump and you should land on a grassy ledge.
First Ledge
Turn right and run forward along this ledge until Lara stops. Take a standing up over the slope and run forward until Lara stops again at the foot of another slope.

Sidestep to the right until Lara reaches the edge and will step no further. You will probably want to save the game here because the next jump is also tricky. Turn Lara to the right so that she is facing far right corner of the bright grassy slope above her. Hop back one step and take one more step back. Take a running jump to that slope. Lara should land on the lowest corner of the ledge. While on that corner and without turning to one side or another, take a standing jump diagonally to a dark grassy ledge below.

Turn right and run forward along the ledge Lara will slide down one slope. Continue running forward until Lara reaches a crest and refuses to continue forward. Now either step back and take a running jump or take two standing jumps to cross the two humps and continue forward until Lara stops. Take a standing jump out of the little dip that Lara has slid into and then continue forward. Lara will slide down one more slope until she reaches the corner and can run no further.
Second Ledge
Sidestep to the right until Lara is at the edge of the block. Take one hop back and one step back. Take one sidestep to the left away from the edge of the block. Turn Lara to the right until she is facing the topmost crest of the mountains. A save game here may be useful. Take a running jump to reach the mountain crest. Turn right again, and run towards the first tower, and stop when you reach the highest peak. Do not run all the way to the tower because the hills slope back down too low to get onto the tower.
First Tower
Take a hop back and do a running jump and grab to grab the edge of the first tower. Have Lara pull herself up and enjoy the view from this tower. When she's had enough you can continue to the second tower.
Third Ledge
Cross to the other side of the first tower from where Lara first climbed up from. You will find a grassy mountain on the other side. Take a running jump from the tower to the middle of the mountain. Run forward along the crest of the mountain, and turn right before you reach the farthest block.

Run down the slight incline along the ledge until Lara stops at the foot of a steep slope. Sidestep to the right and Lara will sidestep around the corner of the slope. Continue forward until Lara stops at the foot of another slope. Take a standing jump over it. And continue forward until, again, Lara stops at the foot of another slope. And once again, take a standing jump over the slope and continue forward until Lara reaches a flat block.

Turn right and walk until Lara reaches the edge of the mountain. Take a standing jump to reach the top of the second tower. Enjoy the majestic view of the mountains of China from the second tower.
