| Your visit to The Submarine may cause you some anxiety, considering you'll will have to enjoy your ride from the brig. If you follow our advice, you might get a tour of the submarine after all. | |||
Sights to See |
The Juliett class submarine is the largest conventional nuclear
submarine in existence. Originally designed and deployed in the late
1950's during the height of the Cold War. This submarine was intended
to be an effective nuclear-strike weapon against the United States
east coast areal targets, which include the cities of New York and
Washington. The Juliett has four nuclear armed cruise missiles on board and ten torpedo tubes with up to 22 torpedoes. This massive ship has seen better days since its heyday during the Cold War. Maintenance of the large submarine has been a daunting task, and much of the sub's ventilation system has fallen into disrepair. This sub has been retrofitted to be used as a deep sea salvage and research vessel, with four diving chambers that allow divers to exit the submarine at extreme depths. However, the sub still carries a small complement of torpedoes. If all this sounds too interesting to waste sitting in the brig, then just pry open a ventilation grate and go exploring. Just watch for broken grates, exposed fan blades, and exposed live electrical wires. |

Submarine Crew |
As you explore the submarine, you will encounter the sub's cook and a few Russian soldiers. There is also a contingent of Russian mobsters aboard.
Souvenirs
|
The first thing you will want to pick up is a broken handrail that you can use a crowbar. There are two batteries, which will be needed to power the extreme depth suit [EDS}. You will find the first battery fairly early on, but you won't find the other until much later. You will need the bronze key to enter the ship's pantry. There you'll find the silver key to the ship's mess hall and your pistols. Finally you'll need the aqualung and the suit console to operate the EDS. Along the way you might find a shotgun too.
Hidden Treasures |
There are three hidden treasures. The first and last can be found tucked away in various spots in the ventilation system. Finding the second will require a little prying.
Hazards |
The crew may present a problem, especially given the fact that you will not be very well armed. Beside that there really isn't too much to worry about if you're careful.
